SIETAR Austria presents 30-minute Thoughtful Tuesdays: StudentTalks. It is a new series featuring students and young professionals in the areas of business, management, and intercultural studies.
The idea is to spread positive vibes and help everyone to cope with new everyday challenges, to give some insights & recommendations to lecturers, supervisors, and employers on how they can improve their teaching methods and communication during the social distancing and challenging times.

Talk # 6 Gradiola Kapaj
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”

Gradiola Kapaj is an experienced intercultural training manager who specializes in helping organizations preparing their assignees to maximize their success in working across cultures. In her management position at Learnlight, she works in the global mobility section collaborating with Fortune 500 companies managing intercultural, business, and leadership development programs and coaching for individuals or groups around the world.
She divides her time between Albania (her current country of residence) and other European countries, organizing Intercultural Congresses where the latest development and tools of leadership and executive training are shared. In Austria, Gradiola joined SIETAR Europa and led the first international team for the congress in Dublin, followed by congresses in Milan/Italy, Malaga/Spain, Leuven/Belgium, and Paris/France. Currently, she is working for the International Virtual Congress of IASSM (International Association of Cross-Cultural Competence and Management).
Gradiola is specialized in international team management, virtual team management, and voluntary team management. She has led several international teams and been a guest lecturer at universities in Austria and Germany.

Talk # 5 Marina Dzhashi

“When Life gives you Lemons make Lemonade”
Marina Dzhashi is a cross-cultural consultant based in Moscow. At different stages of her life she lived, worked, and studied in the UK, the US, India, and Japan. Furthermore, she is a guest lecturer at some of the leading universities in Moscow, where she teaches cross-cultural management.
She has created a radio show on cross-cultural communication called “International Business Ethics”, where Marina talks to people who have lived or worked abroad and who share their cross-cultural stories and experiences with her.
Marina participates in international conferences and she was a speaker at the Sietar Youth Conference in Chania, Crete in 2018. She also participated as a speaker at the Sietar Europe Congress 2019 in Leuven.
Marina also shares her personal stories in both Russian and English on her YouTube channel.

Marko Haschej is a passionate entrepreneur, former TEDx curator, event & project manager, and a co-founder of Moonshot Pirates (moonshotpirates.com).
Moonshot Pirates is a global movement of future-oriented talents & young changemakers. Moonshot Pirates serves as a network between young entrepreneurs and mentors. They organize a 3-day Bootcamps in different parts of Austria that bring together young talents who want to make a difference in the world with impactful ideas. Participants work with and receive insights from skillful entrepreneurs & innovators, take part in workshops, seminars, trainings, and hackathons. During the time there, students learn about current tech trends and team up with other talented individuals, get the opportunity to execute their own ideas, and pitch to real investors.
Apart from this project, Marko also is a knowledgeable professional in online-marketing, multilingual web, and cross-media projects. Additionally, as a former TEDx curator and member of the global TED network, Marko is an expert in event organization. Together with a passionate team of volunteers, he co-founded and established one of the most esteemed events in Austria – TEDxKlagenfurt.
On a personal level, he describes himself as being mindful and grateful for every opportunity provided, whereas avoiding negative news is what helps him to cope with the current situation.

Talk #3 Anna Barendregt

Anna Barendregt, a young intercultural professional, born and raised in Ukraine, educated in Austria. For the past 7 years, she has been working at WB-Production, an agency that organizes the World Bodypainting Festival, the world’s biggest and the most prestigious event in the industry of bodypainting (wb-festival.com). It is a festival that combines the art of bodypainting with music, fashion, shows, and parties. Artists from 50 nationalities are presenting their breathtaking creations on a big stage in front of thousands of visitors.
This year Anna is going to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Intercultural Management from the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.
During this StudentTalk, Anna will share her extensive experience of being a professional event organizer, student, and mom of a beautiful baby girl Jasmin, her best motivation to move on.

Olla Jongerius is a diversity & inclusion consultant, intercultural trainer, and community builder that supports corporates, startups, and business schools in Berlin and all over Europe.
She has developed intercultural and inclusion trainings for such companies as POSCO, IPONWEB, GetYourGuide, ESMT Business School, HelloFresh, HAURATON, Deutsche Bank, Federal Ministry of Defence Germany, Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Germany and many others.
Olla is a founder of BerLearn – an educational platform and network for EdTech startups, HR professionals, L&D specialists, instructional designers, universities, trainers, and coaches in Germany.
In 2014, Olla Jongerius represented New Zealand at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Conference in Bali and worked on a draft resolution for Unity in Diversity presented to UN representatives, including the former Secretary-General Ban-ki-Moon.
The young Russian-born, New Zealand-raised, Europe-educated Professional is passionate to share her story and tips on how to overcome challenges.

Talk #1 Mahsin Mzee

Mahsin Mzee, a final year bachelor student of the Intercultural Management program. Mahsin is doing his internship at CIC Carinthian International Center and writing the Bachelor Thesis.
Particularly, Mahsin is working on developing business curricula in the areas of intercultural competency & diversity on both local and international levels.
In this talk, Mahsin is going to discuss mindfulness activities and his personal beliefs. He is also going to give insight into the situation in his home country (Kenya) and explain his distrust in certain media.
In addition, he will talk about working from home and give his advice on how to not lose yourself during the quarantine.
